What does branding mean to you? How important is it to your business? Is it even necessary? First off to answer these questions let’s start with what it technically means. One definition according to Google “the promotion of a particular product or company by means of advertising and distinctive design”. I think that about sums it up, but as you dig deeper into the meaning and its impact on your potential perceived value it gets a little more important than that.

If we go by the definition, then at the bear minimum it gives your company or self-brand a distinctive design. How do you stand out is just as important on what you are selling? In this modern information aid, the average consumer as access to and endless supply of information on that you are selling and what kind of company you are. The need to be clearly defined, relevant and socially progressive are way too important to overlook
So what should branding mean to you?
It should be the difference between selling and not selling. You shouldn’t wait until you are already in the market to begin that process, choosing the right design team and the ground level is going to be critical to any future success. As the customer becomes more tech-savvy and informed, the old gimmicks will actually hurt any of your potential growth.
